Vegan Cookbook Makes CNN’s Top 10 Gift List

In a recent CNN feature, Amazon senior books editor Sierra Wilson chose vegan cookbook Thug Kitchen: Party Grub for Social M*therfuckers as one of the 10 best cookbooks to gift this year. Calling it the ideal present for “hipster vegan foodies,” Wilson also stated that the book is “fun, it’s vegan, and yes, there’s cursing.” CNN asked the duo behind Thug Kitchen—Michelle Davis and Matt Holloway—about their favorite cookbooks, and they listed Moosewood Cookbook by Mollie Katzen and Crossroads by Tal Ronnen and J. Scot Jones. Regarding the former, Davis and Holloway said the book’s linguine recipe “has been haunting our dreams since we first made it.” Earlier this year, the couple had their hands in veganizing New York’s The Meatball Shop, which put vegan meatballs on its menu after Thug Kitchen’s book release party.
